Geislinger GmbH, a global market leader in torsional vibration dampers, chose DeskCenter Management Suite for its complete IT management in 2017. Since then, the Salzburg-based IT managers have completed many administrative tasks from inventorisation to software deployment using the software solution from the Leipzig-based IT management specialists. In the interview, Stefan Zauner, Information Technology Officer at Geislinger, describes his experience with the suite.

The Emergency Hospital Berlin is a highly specialised clinic centre. The IT systems and security department is responsible for the hospital’s complete IT infrastructure. This starts with the IT network infrastructure, includes the passive and active components, server storage systems and even reaches the applications and management of the hospital information system. DeskCenter Management Suite has been used successfully at the Emergency Hospital Berlin since 2012.
SONAX GmbH develops and produces successful products for vehicle care at Neuburg an der Donau. The 13 employees in the information centre, including Andreas Kaltenstadler, system administrator at Sonax, manage 550 clients throughout the HOFFMANN corporate group at several locations from the Neuburg site. A central IT management solution for inventorisation, user management and audit-proof licence management provide a lasting overview of the software products.

Fernholz produces modern packaging solutions and sheets made of thermoplastics. The company’s primary focus is the manufacture of plastic packaging, such as yogurt cups, through injection molding and thermoforming, as well as sheet extrusion for food and dairy products. As the market leader in workwear, engelbert strauss is a rapidly expanding company with high demands for the design and function of its products. Personnel growth and the accompanying rising number of IT assets reinforced demand for an innovative IT management solution. In addition to the headquarters in Biebergemünd, the IT is also operating in three other branches, cross-location workflow management was another important criterion.
The IMO Group manufactures highly specialized slewing rings in market-leading quality at two plants near Nuremberg. Before the implementation of DeskCenter the management and monitoring of IT systems was mainly done manually and with an enormous amount of time by the administrators. There are over 350 systems that should be controlled modernly and be automated with one central solution.
TECHNOLIT® runs a total of 950 systems and 10 hypervisors at various sites. The company wanted to be ready for recurring audits and be able to quickly and easily map its license inventory. In addition, it had often found manual software installations to be prone to errors and very time-consuming in the past. The company wanted to significantly reduce the number of staff who are tied up in handling these IT issues. Finally, IT staff found that keeping manual lists in Excel was too cumbersome and outmoded. This all made the introduction of an IT management solution absolutely essential.
