DeskCenter and SECOPTENA – Technology partnership for managing network licenses with OpenLM

Leipzig, November 02, 2016 – DeskCenter Solutions, a provider of solutions for IT lifecycle management and SECOPTENA GmbH, a service provider and solution provider for IT governance and IT compliance, have agreed on a solution partnership. As part of the cooperation, OpenLM, a specialised application for the management of network licenses, will be fully integrated into the DeskCenter Management Suite. The integration will simplify the administration of all current license models via a common user interface.
 
In IT management today, various licensing models are summarised under the term network licensing. Concurrent user licensing, i.e. named users and tokens, often referred to as a floating license model. They all have in common that a license is not bound to a specific device, but the licenses are dynamically assigned via a server. The Integration will enable IT Directors, System Administrators and Software Asset Managers to obtain a clear view of the organisation’s license inventory, effectively manage and monitor the actual usage, plan license maintenance and procurement, and optimise the utilisation of expensive engineering software licenses. Network licenses are widely used in highly specialized applications such as CAD, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
